Share access to your Google Business Profile
Step-by-step guide to grant access to a partner

Want to hand over the management of your Google Business Profile to a professional? Here's how to share access simply and securely, whether from a computer or a mobile device.
Steps on desktop
From your web browser in 4 simple steps
- 1
Find your listing
Search for your business name on Google or Google Maps. You can also go directly to business.google.com and select “View listing”. Make sure you're signed in with the Google account that owns the listing.
- 2
Access settings
Once on your listing, click the three vertical dots menu (top right), then select “Business profile settings”. In the menu that appears, click “Users and access”.

- 3
Add a user
Click the “Add” button and enter the Gmail address of the collaborator or partner you want to grant access to. The person must have a Google account (Gmail).

- 4
Choose the role and invite
Select the appropriate access level (owner, manager or site manager) then click “Invite”. To have your listing managed by Opsidius, select the “Manager” role. The person will receive an invitation email that they must accept to access your Google Business Profile.

The two Google Business Profile access levels
When you invite a user to manage your Google Business Profile, two roles are available. Choose the one that best matches your collaborator's or provider's mission.
Owner
Can make edits, add users, and transfer ownership of the listing on Google Search and Maps. This role is reserved for the business owner or a trusted partner.
Manager
Can edit the business listing on Google Search and Maps. Cannot add or remove users or transfer ownership. This is the ideal role for a service provider managing your listing.

Best practices
Verify the email address
Before sending the invitation, carefully verify the recipient's email address. A mistake could grant access to your Google Business Profile to an unauthorised person.
Assign the right role
Only grant the level of access necessary for the task. For a provider optimising your Google Business Profile, the Manager role is needed to edit the title, description and categories.
Revoke unnecessary access
When a collaboration ends, remember to immediately remove the former collaborator’s access from the “Users and access” settings.
Gmail account required
The invited person must have an active Google account (Gmail address). If they don't have one, they'll need to create one before they can accept the invitation.

- For a provider managing and optimising your Google Business Profile, the Manager role is recommended. It allows editing listing content (title, description, categories, hours), responding to reviews, publishing posts and viewing statistics. They cannot add or remove other users, so you keep full control.
- Yes, a Google account (Gmail) is required to receive and accept the invitation. If your provider uses a professional email address, they'll need to create a Google account linked to that address or use an existing Gmail address.
- Absolutely. As the listing owner, you can revoke any user’s access at any time from the “Users and access” settings. The change takes effect immediately.
- There is no strict limit on the number of users you can add to your Google Business Profile. However, for security reasons, it's recommended to limit access to those who genuinely need it.
- Check that the email address is correct and that the recipient checks their spam folder. The invitation is sent directly by Google. If the problem persists, try deleting the invitation and resending it.
